MSNBC parts ways with weekend host Tiffany Cross
MSNBC parted ways with host Tiffany Cross, who was set to host the morning talk show “AM Joy” on Friday.
“MSNBC confirms that Tiffany Cross will not be returning on Friday as host of AM Joy with Tamron Hall,” the network said in a statement.
MSNBC has long relied on morning talk shows to drive interest in what has historically been a very sleepy time slot during the week for top-rated cable news programs.
Cross, who had been with the network since 2013, is set to join “Live with Kelly and Michael” at CBS. Cross said in a statement, “I am grateful to the MSNBC family for having me as part of their amazing team, and I wish everyone well and have a great weekend.”
Cross, who replaced Joy Reid, was set to replace NBC News anchor Lester Holt in the morning slot.
Cross will work with Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan to host Live with Kelly andMichael, a morning drive-time show on CBS.
She was fired from her role at MSNBC last November. Cross had been with the network for nearly 15 years.
