SAN ANTONIO — A group of Texas high schoolers ran 10 miles every morning under sunny skies.
They were in their white sneakers, just like everyone else, in a race to prove that they could keep up with their peers at the high school track.
One by one, they collapsed.
A woman who was running with students at St. Philip’s Catholic High School in San Antonio tells her story in an interview that was published Sunday by The San Antonio Current.
“It looked like an airplane wreck,” she said, speaking through tears. “It wasn’t just one kid. There were 20 of them collapsing in the middle of the run
