Trent Alexander-Arnold: ‘Man City is the biggest game of the season’
Trent Alexander-Arnold was full of praise for Manchester City’s latest win.
The England striker, signed from Tottenham Hotspur for a fee of £57million in the summer, marked his return with a brilliant display against Everton, showing why he is tipped to become the Premier League’s best player of the season.
And the 22-year-old told BBC Radio 5 live: “The manager put me over there. It feels incredible actually.
“I’ve never been in a position where I’ve thought I have to hold on or don’t step out for a few weeks.
“The manager wanted me to hold on, he’s not getting into the game. He is putting me in. It’s fantastic.
“But the manager has shown it. He’s shown it. For me personally, I’ve come back and I’ve been training well, I’m back, I’ve got my fitness back.
“The manager has been putting me in and I’ve done well.
“I just try to do my job like I always try to do, but what a game, really. It’s massive, massive, massive, massive.”
Alexander-Arnold came on despite a serious rib injury, but the fitness staff convinced him to play against Everton, although it is believed the player sustained an injury that required his full attention.
