On Tuesday, the White House released a new, revised version of President Donald Trump’s long-form birth certificate, in a move that he promised last month would clear up what he called “a very big issue.” According to the website of the White House National Archives, the document, labeled “Certificate of Live Birth,” was submitted on Jan. 17, 1973. But by then, the president was in the White House. So on Monday, the White House sent out its press release citing the new document. The new certificate, which is dated Jan. 17, 1974, is dated in the year after he moved into the White House. The president’s official White House birth certificate, which he is entitled to, is dated in the year he took office.

“Mr. Trump has not done anything wrong,” his lawyer Jay Sekulow told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Monday, when asked about a potential indictment on obstruction of justice. “There’s never been an instance where somebody was prosecuted for doing the exact same thing that President Trump is being charged for.”
Trump is facing a number of ongoing investigations by federal, state and city prosecutors, including whether he directed two aides to commit potentially criminal acts. Trump has suggested that there is a “rigged system” against him, and he has complained that he was unfairly treated by the Justice Department just before and during his 2016 election campaign.
Meanwhile, there’s the ongoing Mueller investigation. Mueller’s team has already indicted Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, on money laundering and tax evasion charges. Former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos is also charged with lying to the FBI about contacts with foreign officials
